President Sandy Holcombe welcomed everyone including first time members and lunch was served by church members. Paul Collier gave the invocation, and we had a moment of silence and prayer for Fred Ciminello who recently died—Fred was so involved and supportive of LCRTA.
Program:
Susie Frahn, from the Heart of Ohio Quilters guild, shared about her numerous quilts, their stories, and how she became interested in quilting.
Their group is very active, often handing out completed quilts to hospitals, homeless shelters, military, and others in need. The guild holds a June “Yard Sale” & an October auction as fundraisers. They meet at St. Leonard’s Church.
Sandy introduced Lee Ann Miller from the Granville Senior Center, who had “handouts” for everyone. The center offers free county-wide senior services; meals are offered 2X a week. They also have some day trips, card groups, artist/writer’s groups, and exercise, such as yoga. They also have “Aging in Place” seminars for awareness for seniors to be able to remain in their homes. Check out their website and you can also get on to their mailing list if interested.
