Be thankful and look for answers to our prayers each new day! Invocation: today led by Eileen also. Delicious lunch served by the church .
Program Introduction: Following lunch, we were entertained by Marilyn Stocker, retired teacher and a legend in area theater, sharing about Licking County Players Theater, and the history of the off-shoot volunteer theater group, "LC Suitcase Theater", which she directs and has been involved with LC Players for its 50 years. Performing not only in Newark, but all over central Ohio, they have even included style shows to their programs. Old Business:
New Business: Eileen discussed the changes, at this time, in our Luncheon Meeting scheduling for next year. Please take note!
*February's meeting will ALWAYS be at Stacey's Buffet, as we do not need to have a secure reservation there, which is better for the chance of inclement weather often in February.
*All other months, April, June, August, October and December will be held at Heritage Hall, Senior Center. BUT a definite count for our reservation MUST be turned in by the Friday before our Wednesday luncheon. We will be responsible for any reservations not honored, and there will not be extra food available for walk-ins.
Eileen was pleased to again send out applications for the "New Teacher Grants", after the success of giving out 3 grants last year. This year we are pleased to be giving out 5 grants to area first/second year teachers, with the wonderful donations given by Eileen, with 2-$200 grants, Judy Pflaumer with 2-$200 grants, and our own LCRTA Chapter, 1-$200 grant. It is wonderful to help teachers working and trying to supply their classrooms. Receiving grants for 2016-17 are: Elizabeth Untied, 1st Grade, Granville; Jennifer Davis, Heath High School; Emma Hayford, K-3 SW Licking; Greg Horchel, LH high School; and Theresa Snyder, Phoenix central education Center. Congratulations!
Other Announcements: Janet Simross will be stepping down from being our Vice President, and Karen Butt will be taking over her position.
Next Meeting / Donations: Our next meeting is Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 at Central Christian Church, with students from John Clem Elementary, entertaining us with a holiday program. Pantry donations for December are Laundry items.
